“Since 2014, Second Chance Workshop has offered Pre-Employment programs to people on social assistance in order to increase their chance of getting and keeping a decent job. In 2018, we joined the Grant Advance program. It took us a year to actually go through all the features of their program. Eventually, we got into it and are we ever glad we did! The most valuable tools were (1) their very extensive information on hundreds of Foundations, and (2) the foundation own mission, in order to find similarities with the main purpose of our agency. And thirdly, the Letters of Inquiry were a Gem. We sent out 76 Inquiry Letters and the response was overwhelming. Using the Grant Advance program, we have sent out 55 letters in our first mailing asking for $1000 to be utilized by our kitchen program. We received 2 responses with $1000 each and one with $3000. We also have had 2 requests for more information which we have already sent out and are now pending approval. This is very exciting for us… we will continue to use Grant Advance…

It took a little work to get set up, all with the help of the amazing Grant Advance staff who were always there to answer questions and help directly, one-on-one. I followed their plan (which I strongly recommend) and 2 months after sending out my first batch of request letters (total 125 for my first campaign), I’ve received $15,360 in funding! My first positive response was a donation of $10,000, and I asked only for their “median” amount of $1,000! They’re still coming in! I urge everyone to write personally passionate Letters of Inquiry about your cause because that’s what gets attention, and that’s what Grant Advance recommends. The Vancouver Island Symphony has been using Grant Advance for about 2 years now. We have such a tiny staff that we have not had time to use it to the fullest. The GA staff are awesome and so helpful. In December I was able to secure over $11,000 in grants for our education program – more than $23500 for the year – and that is just using Grant Advance off the side of my desk.

Last fall, I received a call from Grant Advance explaining how their program could help raise grant funds. As they took me through some sample recipients of grant dollars, there was my golfing partner who had recently received an $8,000.00. I spotted another church that had received a sizable grant, then someone else I knew who had received over $180,000.00. I stopped counting then and signed up ( which was so inexpensive that I could hardly believe it). Through an absolute miracle of God I succeeded (I am a computer zero) in preparing and mailing out over 400 letters. From that I received 25 responses, 1 cheque for $4,000.00, and another currently under consideration for $25,000.00. Whatever comes in from here on is pure profit for the ministry. I highly recommend Grant Advance and the loyal and professional employees that I have had the pleasure of speaking with.
