Our Story
How it all started
The story of Grant Advance is a story that begins with a young executive director struggling to secure grant funding for their organization.
So, if you’re a director or board member in your current organization, you are probably far too familiar with just how difficult it can be. But back when this all started, it was tougher. In efforts to find potential funders, we had decided that the grant funding process was too complex. It needed improvement, and it needed to be improved dramatically.
How Grant Advance Was Born
Initially when the team first met together to design our system, we gathered a group of people that had experience and knowledge, not just with technology, but with running non-profits and with fundraising. They became excited about the opportunity to invest their experience in developing a software solution specifically for grant funding. At this time, it was decided that it would be the team members that had served on the front lines that would drive the design and development of our software.
Our Approach
Continuous Improvement
By putting themselves back in the position of their “inexperienced” selves, our founding members asked the simple question, “what would I have needed back then in order to be successful?”. We listened to the most pressing fundraising issues facing non-profits and looked for practical solutions to their real problems. It has been a fun and worthwhile pursuit that animates our entire team to continue to strive for excellence.
Since launching in 2014, Grant Advance has never left the drawing board. As much as we wish we could say otherwise, we understand that our systems are never perfect. No matter how big or how small, there is always room for improvement, and we continually strive to innovate and improve the services and support we offer to our valued clients.
