Some of my hobbies & interests include hiking, biking, skiing, paddle boarding, camping, reading, video games, playing hockey, and playing board games! My favorite thing to do, however, is to go on adventures with my partner and my cat Koda. She’s been across Canada, all around BC, and will be living with us full time in our converted school bus home once it’s complete!

I really enjoy cold case podcasts, in particular, Someone Knows Something has been my absolute favorite. I also like listening to true crime podcasts such as Escaping Nxivm, Uncover, and The Shrink Nextdoor.

Something I’m working towards this year is completing a winter camping expedition here in BC. I’ve been building up my camp gear over the years and nearly have the right set up to safely winter camp for a multi-day trip and have been taking courses to help keep myself safe in the winter conditions as well!

Some advice I’d like to give to someone getting into fund development would be to not give up. As basic as that sounds, my experience with fund development was frustrating and disappointing at times, to the point where I was nearly ready to give up, but if I didn’t succeed in one aspect of fund development, I usually succeeded down the road with another grant application or funding request. The belief of “when one door closes, another one opens” was what got me through those hard times, so to persevere, even when you feel defeated is the best advice I can think to give.
