Foundation Spotlight: Canada Post Community Foundation

When you’re running a charity, fundraising is key to your success.

However, searching for charity grants can sometimes feel like a never-ending pool of options. To help you in your search, check out our top 5 tips to consider when searching.

Charity grants are offered by many large corporations*, such as Canada Post. Since larger corporations tend to have longer wait/response times, including them in your list of grants to apply for doesn’t hurt. However, it’s important to understand that you shouldn’t rely on this grant alone.

For this edition of our Charity Funders Spotlight, let’s take a deeper look into the Canada Post Community Foundation.

About Canada Post Community Foundation

The Canada Post Community Foundation provides grants to Canadian schools, charities, and community organizations that aim to make a difference in the lives of children and youth.

If your charity works to do the same, it may be worth your time to submit a grant application. To help you determine whether that’s the case, let’s take a look at the types of grants they offer, and the projects they like to support.

Types of Grants

The Canada Post Community Foundation offers three different types of grants:

  • Community-based Projects: for organizations to use towards projects that expand existing services or create new ones within your organization
  • Signature Grant: for national organizations that deliver programs or support to Canadian children and youth
  • Indigenous Truth & Reconciliation: for Indigenous regional or local organizations that offer programs that support Indigenous children and youth with principles anchored to Indigenous truth and reconciliation

Projects they Support

Canada Post Community Foundation supports projects that focus on making a positive impact on the lives of children and youth across Canada. Canada Post grants focus on three main areas:

  • Community: supporting better futures for children
